Fossil Sharks Tooth
Otodus obliquus.
50 million years old.
Eocene epoch.
Oued Zem, Khouribga Phosphate deposits, Morocco.
Related to both the contemporary Great White Shark and the extinct Carcharocles megalodon. These teeth are sourced from Morocco, the colour matching the soil/rock in the vast phosphate mines from which they’re dug. Sharks are mostly cartilage, so teeth and vertebrae are the only fossilised remains.
Length approx. 4 – 5 cm
The fossils are boxed. Ideal for your collection… or superb gifts for the geologist in your life!
